PROGRAM

Day 1 Kuala Lumpur - Tashkent

Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Tashkent - Samarkand

After breakfast, a sightseeing tour of Tashkent. We start with the old part of the city: Visit the Khast Imam Complex, including Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, Barak Khan Madrassah, Friday Mosque, and the Muyi Muborak Madrassah, home to the famous Quran of Caliph Osman (7th century). Next, a walk through the lively and colourful Chorsu Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in Tashkent, known for its local crafts, spices, and traditional atmosphere.

Continue with the modern part of Tashkent: Ride the Tashkent Metro, known for its Soviet-era architecture. Explore Independence Square, Amir Temur Square, Theatre Square, and the Monument of Courage, dedicated to the 1966 earthquake. In the evening, transfer to the railway station for the train to Samarkand. Upon arrival in Samarkand, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Samarkand.

Day 3 Samarkand

Breakfast at the hotel.  After the City tour of Samarkand, visit the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, then walk through the legendary Registan Square with its three stunning madrassahs – Ulugbek, Shirdor, and Tillya-Kari. Next, explore the majestic Bibi Khanum Mosque and the vibrant Siab Bazaar. In the afternoon, visit the sacred Shah-i-Zinda necropolis and Ulugbek’s Observatory. Overnight at the hotel in Samarkand.

Day 4 Samarkand - Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by car to Bukhara. On the way, we make a stop in the town of Gijduvan to visit the famous ceramic workshop of the Narzulloyev family, renowned for their unique pottery traditions. Also visit Abdulkhalik Gijduvani Mausoleum & Ulugbek Madrasa. Afterwards, we continue the drive to Bukhara and check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Bukhara.

Day 5 Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Around 10:00, start sightseeing in Bukhara. You will see the Mausoleum of Ismail Samani, the Chashma-i-Ayub Mausoleum, and the Bolo-Hauz complex with its mosque, minaret, and pond. Then visit the Ark Fortress, the old royal castle. Next, explore the Poi-Kalyan area: the big Kalon Minaret, Djuma Mosque, and Miri-Arab Madrassah. You will also see other old madrassahs, trading domes where people sold jewellery, hats, and exchanged money. The tour ends at Lyab-i-Hauz square with its ponds, old madrassahs, and the underground Magok-i-Attari Mosque. Overnight at the hotel in Bukhara.

Day 6 Bukhara - Khiva

Breakfast. The second day in Bukhara begins with a trip outside the city to visit the elegant summer residence of the last Emir – Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa, where oriental charm blends with Russian architectural touches. The journey continues to the Bahauddin Naqshband Memorial Complex – a significant spiritual site and one of the most revered places in the region. After lunch, departure for Khiva. Arrive in Khiva, check into the hotel.

Day 7 Khiva - Dashoguz

Breakfast. Start exploring the magic of Ichan-Kala – Khiva’s old town, a real open-air museum. You will visit all the main sights, including the Kalta Minor minaret, Kunya-Ark fortress, Mohammed Rahim Khan Madrasa, and the Islam Khodja complex. See the beautifully decorated Tash Hovli Palace, Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum, Juma Mosque, and Allakulikhan Madrasa. After the tour, transfer to the Uzbek-Turkmen border at Shavat. Drive to the Uzbek-Turkmen border at 16:00. Pass the border. Overnight at the hotel in Dashoguz.

Day 8 Dashoguz - Darvaza

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour of Dashoguz city. During the tour, you will visit Dashoguz Bazaar, White Yurt, the Flagpole, and the Regional Museum, which are unique to the province’s capital. You will get to see both the old and new parts of the city and experience all the highlights it has to offer. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, drive to Darvaza Gas Crater, which is a top international tourist destination. The area is rich in natural gas, and the crater has been burning for over 50 years, making it shine like a pearl in the middle of the Karakum desert. You will also see water and mud craters. The trip provides an opportunity to experience the fresh air of the desert and the nomadic life. You will camp in the Turkmen national yurt or private tents and barbecue for dinner while enjoying the light of the Gas Crater in the night sky. This unique landscape will captivate you and make you want to return. BBQ dinner. Overnight at STANTRIPS yurt camp.

Day 9 Darvaza - Ashgabat

Picnic breakfast. Drive to Ashgabat 4 hours, 270km. City tour of Ashgabat. In 2013, the Guinness Book of Records named Ashgabat “white marbled city” – here you can see the biggest number of structures in the world made out of white marble. You will see the Wedding Palace, Ferris Wheel, Constitution Monument, Arch of Neutrality, Monument and Park of Independence, Ertogrul Gazi Mosque, Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex and Ashgabat Olympic Stadium. Overnight at the hotel in Ashgabat.

Day 10 Ashgabat - Mary

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, drive to visit the Carpet Museum, one of the best in Central Asia, featuring designs from the Tekke, Yamud, Sarik and Chodor tribes. The Turkmen Carpet Museum is one of the cultural centres of Turkmenistan, where about 2000 carpet exhibits, including rare ones, are exhibited. For example, the museum has the smallest carpet to wear keys, as well as the world’s largest hand carpet with a total area of 301 m², which was woven in 2001, and in 2003 it was added to the Guinness Book of Records.

Then drive to Mary (350km, 3h). If time permits, visit the local Green Bazaar, the Library for 6000 readers with the Observatory on top, also the Old Russian Church, which was built in 1900. Overnight at the hotel in Mary.

Day 11 Mary - Merv - Ashgabat

Breakfast at the hotel. After driving Merv to explore ancient Merv, “Queen of the world”, was one of the most important capitals of Islam along with Baghdad, Cairo and Damascus. Sightseeing of ancient Merv includes Greater Kyz Gala & Lesser Kyz Gala (VI-VII), Complex of Askhabs (VIII-XIV), Erk Gala (VI BC), Gyaur Gala (IV BC), Hoja Yusup Hamadani complex, Sultan Sanjar mausoleum, Muhamed Ibn Zeid mausoleum. After sightseeing, drive to Mary City. You will visit the Mary History Museum is a history museum of Mary, located in the centre of the city. The exposition of the museum reflects the history and culture of Mary from ancient times to the present day, and is unique in size and content of the exhibits. After sightseeing, drive to Ashgabat (390km, 4h). Overnight at the hotel in Ashgabat.

Day 12 Ashgabat – Gokdepe – Ashgabat

Breakfast at the hotel. We will drive to Gokdepe through the new Arkadag city, the newly built “smart city” with located amazing view of the Kopetdag Mountain. Named in honour of the national leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov (“Arkadag” meaning “Protector”), the city represents Turkmenistan’s vision for sustainable, modern urban development.

Arrive at Gokdepe horse farm. Visit the Akhal-Teke horse stables, showcasing the national pride of Turkmenistan. The Akhal-Teke horses, often regarded as the most beautiful in the world, boast a lineage that dates back over 5,000 years. This unique breed, cherished by rulers such as Alexander the Great and Darius I, has remained pure without mixing with other breeds. According to local beliefs, touching an Akhal-Teke horse is said to bring healing and good fortune.

After that you will be hosted by local family, which name is “Turkmen Hospitality” and we will learn Turkmen culture and traditions: You will be presented with national Turkmen dresses, which you can try on, they will show you how to weave a carpet and felt mat, which is made from special wool, cooking national dishes such as dograma, ishlekli, they will show you how to bake bread, and you will also try to cook the national sweet pishme. Day 13 Ashgabat- Kuala Lumpur

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the International Airport of Ashgabat
